Have you thought of where you will spend eternity? Most people don’t give this question serious thought. The purpose of this ministry is to show you what God’s plan is for your life and where He desires you to spend eternity.
Webster defines eternity:
Eternity(noun), infinite duration, without beginning in the past or end in the future; also, duration without end in the future; endless time
Eternity(noun) ,condition which begins at death; immortality
As you can see by the definition, eternity is forever, it is endless time.To me where my soul(spirit) will spend eternity is the most important decision I need to make in life before I die. I want to know for sure that I am going to heaven. Why is that important and how do I know for sure where I will spend eternity? Let’s look at God’s word; the Bible and see what He says.
In Genesis 1:26 God said, “let us make man in our image according to our likeness.” He gave man authority to rule over all living things. God placed him in the garden of Eden (Gen 2:15) and told man he could eat freely of every tree in the garden, but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil; for in the day you eat of this fruit you will die (Gen 3:16-17). In Genesis chapter 3 you will find that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The result of this sin was that they were separated from inimate fellowship with God and driven from His presence and the garden of Eden. Because we are all descendants of Adam and Eve we are born into this sin.
From this point on, man was separated from God. Since God is so Holy and Righteous nothing unclean can stand in God’s presence. God knew that the blood of all the animal sacrifices was not enough to reconcile sinful man to Him the Holy God. He knew there was only one way to cleanse sinful men of their sins, so one day when they die they would be able to stand in His Holy presence and spend eternity with Him.
John 3:16; “For God so loved the world, that he hath given His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life”. What does believeth mean? Strongs 4100 definition: to have faith in, to entrust in. It means not just to believe, but to place confidence in, to trust, reliance upon, to entrust one’s spiritual well being. Its more that believing that Jesus exists. Look at what James says about this. James 2:19; “you believe in one God. Good! Even the demons believe that and tremble with fear.” As you can see it’s more than saying it with your lips, it’s living a life that puts ones confidence and trust in Jesus Christ. John 14:6- Jesus said, “I am that Way, and that Truth, and that Life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”
That is what Jesus did for us on the cross, by His death and resurrection. He reconciled us to God. But we have to do our part, we have to make a u-turn in life. We have to decide to stop living for ourselves, give our life to God and live for Him; to ask Jesus Christ to forgive us for living by the world’s standards and not God’s standards; to make Jesus Christ first in our lives, before anything else. This is what repentence is, to ask Jesus for forgiveness and surrender your life to Him. This is what Jesus meant in John 14:6 when He said, “I am that Way, and that Truth, and that Life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me”.
The question is? Have you made Jesus Lord and Savior of your Life? There is no greater decision to make in life. If you have questions or need prayer, please send me a message. My desire is that no one will spend eternity in hell.
